Biography

Dr. Andrew Boutton (Ph.D., Pennsylvania State University) is an associate professor in the School of Politics, Security, and International Affairs, specializing in international relations and comparative politics. Within these areas, he focuses on how the political incentives of leaders in smaller states affect the ability of larger states to influence them, as well as the impact of cooperation with an outside power on the domestic political landscape of the client states. His research has appeared in the British Journal of Political Science, Conflict Management and Peace Science, International Studies Quarterly, Journal of Conflict Resolution, Journal of Peace Research, and other outlets. Before coming to UCF, he was a fellow at the Strauss Center for International Security and Law at the University of Texas.
